Very often we want to find a film done by a certain director or featuring an individual actor, or we may want to find a particular orchestra's interpretation of a piece of music. In this section, we will learn how to search for names in videos and recorded music.
To search for a director, actor, performer, or orchestra, you will need to do a Keyword search. On the Bridges opening screen, click on the Keyword link under "Guided Searches". You should now see the Keyword search screen.

To begin your search, enter the individual's or organization's name in the search box. You do not need to precede the name with any type of abbreviation. Remember to set the Material Format to video or audio, music. Here are some examples:
Washington, Denzel
Lee, Ang
Hitchcock, Alfred
Dreamworks
Price, Leontyne
Slatkin, Leonard
London Symphony Orchestra
You may combine any of these searches with other elements such as subject, author, or title. For example, you would type hitchcock, alfred and s:war in the box to find Hitchcock films on the topic of war.
The final topic in this tutorial on finding videos and recorded music will cover borrowing policies.
